Dog friendly pubs & restaurants around Ayr

For guests who bring their dogs when staying at Doonbank Cottage’s Bothy, here is a list of dog friendly pubs and restaurants, a number of which also do breakfasts for those less keen on cooking their own 🙂 We are not endorsing any and we do recommend that guests check out their own website pages and possibly ring first to check whether it meets their needs.

The Balgarth Pines Bar & Restaurant. Only a 2 minute drive from Doonbank Cottage, or a 15 minute walk. They also have their own Facebook page.

The Fox & Willow. About a 4-5 minute drive from Doonbank. Not really walkable unless you’re really keen – about 25 mins. They also have their own Facebook page.

The Secret Garden. About a 3 minute drive from Doonbank or about a 15-20 minute walk. They also do breakfasts.

The Anchorage Dunure, About a 15 minute drive from Doonbank in a lovely village location with a small harbour and views over to the Isle of Arran. The Failford Inn, Although about a 25 minute drive from Doonbank, the Failford Inn is located just by Ayr Gorge which offers a delightful walk with ye dug prior to eating. They also have a their own Facebook page.

There are also a range of pubs and restaurants who allow dogs in outside areas, such as terraces or gardens. Always best to check with them first.
